History of CAMS
Collaborative Arts Middle School was proposed to the NYC Department of Education Office of New Schools in the fall of 2010 and approved in the spring of the 2011. Designed with the idea of providing students with the opportunity to have a unique middle school experience, our school was supplanted in the tri-community area of Queens (Rosedale, Laurelton, and Springfield Gardens) to serve students and families with a quality standards-based education accompanied with a technically sophisticated arts experience. Opening with the 156 6th grade and nine teachers, the school has evolved to serve three grades with over 40 educators guiding our nearly 400 students.
